Obituaries For Tuesday, April 9

Mrs. Winnie Clinton, age 89, of Cookeville, passed away Tuesday morning April 9 at Heritage Pointe Senior Living. Arrangements are incomplete.

Faye Jackson, 80, of Cookeville, passed away on Monday, April 8, 2019, at Bethesda Health Care Center in Cookeville, TN. She had chosen cremation, and no visitation or services are planned at this time. She was born August 14, 1938, in Cookeville, TN, to the late Lowery Judd and Margie Holloway Judd. She was married for 51 years to James Carson Jackson, who survives. She worked as the manager at K-Mart, and was a member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruby S. Gore, age 80 of Allons, will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 12 noon from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Overton Co. Memorial Gardens. She passed away from this life on Monday morning, April 8, 2019 at the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mrs. Ruby S. Gore was born in Gainesboro, Jackson Co., TN on April 20, 1938 to the late Herman Bedford and Sarah Ermal (Lynn) Beechbard. Ruby was of the Baptist Faith. Ruby loved her family very much. She will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, April 9th starting at 5 PM until 9 PM. Officiating with the service will be Bro. John Copeland.

Celebration of Life Service for Shawn Michael Kinnett, age 20, of Cookeville will be held 4:00pm Wednesday, April 10, 2019 in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Pastor Ted Kocher officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home. Shawn passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019 in a tragic accident in Crossville, TN returning home from one of his favorite waterfalls. He was born May 15, 1998 in Naples, Florida to Roschelle Heiston and Michael “Tony” Kinnett. Shawn will long be remembered as being the light of every room he entered, for being fearless, kind-hearted, gentle, selfless, the life of the party, and for being the best son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to countless loved ones.

Funeral services for Aaron Shane Key, 41, of Hilham, will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Stacy Cemetery in the Old Antioch community of Jackson County. He passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019, in Overton County. He was born April 21, 1977, in Celina to Earl and Lisa Key. He worked as a driller for Civil Constructors. He was an artist, and enjoyed landscaping. He was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents: Thomas Howard Masters and Hilda Masters; his Paternal Grandparents: Earl Key and Mary Key; and 1 Aunt: Robbie Tidwell. Survivors include his Children: Layne Key and December Key; his Parents: Earl and Lisa Key of Pegram; 1 Brother: Earl Howard Key of Nashville; 1 Sister: Lenisa Key Ford of Pegram; and his Nieces and Nephews: William Earl Howard Key, Brianna Nicole Key, Kaylee Marie Key, Leah Ford, and Luke Howard Ford. A multitude of cousins, other relatives, and friends also survive. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and on Thursday from 9 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Johnnie Alfred Lee, 82 of Cookeville, will be Thursday, April 11 at 1 PM from the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery in Overton County. Mr. Lee died Monday, April 8, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 28, 1936 in to the late James Willie “Will” and Sallie Bohannon Lee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law and brother: Evelyn and LD Holloway, Juanita and Leonard McCloud, Alene and Bennie Roberson and Dock Lee. He was a retired grader operator with the Putnam County Highway Department and a logger. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed mule pulling, coon hunting, rabbit hunting and running his dogs. Survivors include wife of 64 years (Married October 19, 1954) Zenobia Robinson Lee of Cookeville, daughters and a son-in-law Cathy Julian of Monterey, Sheron and Willard Haney and Norma “PeeWee” Lee all of Cookeville, grandchildren: Donna and husband Bryan Norrod and Jonathan Julian, sisters-in-law Geneva Lee and Agnes Caudill, host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony for Jeremy Lamont Penn, 41, of Cookeville, will take place at Cane Creek Park, on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 4:00pm. Jeremy passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019. He was born in Newport on March 30, 1978 to Debra Jane Penn and is a 1996 Cookeville High School graduate. Jeremy had a passion for food and cooking. He used his passion by working as a chef in local restaurants and was always cooking up new dishes for his family to try. Jeremy’s other passion was for his niece and nephews. He loved to play with them and wrestle around with them. The kids would get excited if they knew Uncle Jeremy was coming over. He was preceded in death by his mother, Debra Jane Penn. Jeremy is survived by life partner, Mart McClaran of Franklin; sister, Britlee (Todd) Moats of Knoxville; sister, Melissa (Skyler) Bouslog of Cookeville; son, Stephen Wheeler of Cookeville; granddaughter, Kylee Wheeler; 1 niece and 5 nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Presley Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Funeral Services For William Roy Swafford, Age 87, Of Monterey, Will Be Conducted On Friday, April 12, 2019, At 11:00 AM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Floyd Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Whittaker Cemetery With Full Military Honors Provided By The Veterans Honor Guard. Mr. Swafford Was Born On February 23, 1932, In Monterey To The Late Frank Wenton And Lydia Jane Ford Swafford. Mr. Swafford Passed Away On Monday, April 8, 2019, At The VA Medical Center In Nashville. Mr. Swafford Was Retired From Fleetguard Cummins In Cookeville. He Was A Soil Scientist In Kansas For The United States Government. He Was A United States Army Veteran Serving During The Korean War Being Captured As A Prisoner Of War. He Was A Member Of VFW Monterey Post #6277. He Was A Member Of Monterey First Baptist Church. He Is Survived By His Wife Of Over 67 Years, Anna Jo Blaylock Swafford Of Monterey; Daughter And Son-In-Law, Susan And Steve Welch Of Monterey; Son And Daughter-In-Law, Blake And Melinda Swafford Of Monterey; 3 Grandchildren, Bradley (And Amy) Swafford, Megan Swafford, And Bryson Welch; 1 Great Granddaughter, Sadie Rose Swafford; Sister, Clara Mae Williams Of Monterey; And Brother, Billy Raymond Swafford Of Chattanooga. In Addition To His Parents, He Was Preceded In Death By His Son, Barry Swafford; 2 Sisters, Elizabeth Smith And Lula Pearl Silvers; 3 Brothers, Frank Swafford Jr., James Harold “Jimmy” Swafford, And Robert Swafford. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Thursday, April 11, 2019, From 5:00 PM Until 8:00 PM.
