Cumberland Co. HS Stadium Expected To Be Completed This Month

Cumberland County High School’s stadium renovations are expected to be completed this month.

That according to Principal Jon Hall.

“The stadium is about 95 percent complete. They’re doing some painting right now and finishing work inside,” Hall said. “They’re getting ready to start work on a retaining wall around the field. As soon as that wall is finished, we’ve got to address a few small drainage issues on the field itself, and then the last step in the project will be installing the new track. Hopefully, that will be done by the end of this month.”

Hall said many additions and improvements were added during the renovation process to help revamp the aging facility.

“The electrical and plumbing work inside the stadium was about 50 years old, so all that’s been gutted, redone and brought up to code,” Hall said. “We’ve added a new visitors dressing room there at the stadium. We’ve improved the bathrooms, increased handicap access into the stadium lobby itself… [added] new handrails and bleachers in the stadium, repaired a lot of the masonry work and painted the entire stadium. It’s just a major facelift.”

Hall said the stadium is currently scheduled to host a track meet later this season. However, the meet will be moved to Cookeville High School if renovations aren’t complete.
