The Tennessee Highway Patrol arrested a Cookeville woman Wednesday on her fifth DUI charge.

Authorities charged 36-year-old Tina Whitehead on multiple offenses including simple possession and driving on a revoked license.

Arrest warrants indicate the THP had received a BOLO alert for Whitehead’s vehicle. The trooper spotted Whitehead on I-40 eastbound in Cookeville crossing the fog line several times.

The trooper stopped the vehicle and identified Whitehead as the driver. A search of the vehicle revealed a bag containing dozens of pills, including 23 hydrocodone, 20 gabapentin, and two Xanax tablets.

Whitehead failed to complete five field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest. Authorities booked Whitehead into the Putnam County Jail where she remains on $6,500 bond with a court date scheduled for June 14.

Arrest warrants indicate Whitehead has previously been arrested for DUI in Alabama, twice in Robertson County, and once before in Putnam County. All previous DUI charges occurred between July 2011 and December 2014.
