A Sparta man faces a DUI charge after crashing his vehicle in Cookeville Sunday.
35-year-old James D. Clouse makes his initial court appearance next month.
An arrest warrant indicates Cookeville Police responded to a crash on South Jefferson Avenue and located a vehicle on its side in a ditch. Officers identified the driver as Clouse and observed that he had dilated pupils, slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet.
A search of Clouse’s vehicle found four empty beer bottles and seven hydrocodone pills for which he did not have a prescription.
Clouse posted a $1,000 bond and appears in court April 8.
