Mr. Jerry Buck, 67 of Cookeville died Thursday February 21, 2019 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
Jane Wrede, age 68 of Cookeville, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Funeral services for Bryan Lance Adkison, age 53 of Celina, formerly of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, February 23, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 1:00pm at Ray Williams Cemetery (999 Pea Ridge Firetower Road, Celina). The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Brent Tevebaugh will officiate. Bryan was born July 1, 1965 in Dearborn, Michigan to the late Carol Lee & Maggie Denton Adkison. He was a truck driver. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by grandparents Mary Flossie & James Barlow Denton, Mary Lou & Virgil Lee Adkison. Douglas, Brady, Keith, Joe, Paul and Robert Adkison will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hunter Funeral Home, PO Box 90, Sparta, TN 38583 to assist the Adkison family with funeral expenses.
Graveside Service for Everette Lee Parks, age 74 of Cookeville, will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at 12:00Noon at the Double Springs Cemetery. Bro. John Davidson will officiate. Mr. Parks passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 at his residence. Everette Lee Parks was born on May 27, 1944 in Putnam Co. to the late Taylor Lee & Lola V. (Gentry) Parks. Mr. Parks was a factory worker most of his life. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 Sisters and 2 Brothers. His survivors include: WIFE: Shirley Parks; 2 SONS: Joey Parks and Charles Hancock; 4 DAUGHTERS: Glenda Hopkins, Margie Lynn, Sherry McBroom, and Lola Williams; Host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Charlie Eugene “Gene” Bilbrey, age 85, of the Taylors Crossroads Community will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, February 23, 2019 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Harold Smith will officiate. Burial will be in the Nelson Cemetery, with Military Honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. Gene passed from this life on Wednesday evening, February 20, 2019 from the Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born at home in Overton County, Tennessee on December 30, 1933 to the late Johnie & Reba Deck Bilbrey. Gene was a 1954 Graduate of Livingston Academy and served his country during the Korean conflict. He loved fishing and squirrel hunting and watching the Patriots. Gene leaves his sisters, Lucille Wright of Maryville, Juanita Kirksey and husband David of Madisonville, Nina Oakley of the Hatcher Hall Community, and Irene Neal of Englewood; brother, Floyd Bilbrey and wife Nella Rae of Crossville; several niece and nephews. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Clauis “Fox” Bilbrey, Jerry Bilbrey, and Clifford Bilbrey; infant sister, Mildred Marie Bilbrey. The family will welcome friends on Saturday morning, February 23rd from 10 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home. Gene requested that memorial donations be made to the Nelson Cemetery Fund.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gerelene Wiley, 78 of Cookeville will be held Saturday, February 23 at 1 pm in the Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Tosh officiating. Interment will follow in Double Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Wiley died Saturday February 16, 2019 at 2:16 a.m. at Season’s Hospice in Phoenixville, PA. Gerelene’s family will receive friends Friday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday from 12 noon until service time at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner.
Memorial services for Cathleen Lorraine Loveday, age 54, of Cookeville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday February 23 at Colonial View Baptist Church. Cathleen passed away Sunday morning February 17, 2019 at her home. She fought a tough battle with cancer for many years, facing it with relentless perseverance, unwavering faith, and true strength. She was born August 5, 1964 in Anchorage, AK to the late James Daniel Delaney and Jane Evlyn Lewis Delaney. She graduated from Westover High School in Fayetteville, NC in 1982, and she received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Tennessee Tech in 1995. She worked as a cardiac nurse at Cookeville Regional Medical Center and later at TN Heart. Cathleen was a selfless, loving wife and mother, who always put her family first.
Funeral services for Mr. William Ashton Grimsley, age 89 of Cookeville will be held Saturday February 23 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery. His family will receive friends Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time at Dyer Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Eddith Willene Sullivan, 98, of Poplar Springs, will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, February 24 at Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with Doug Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Cemetery. Willene passed away on 2/21/2019 in Cookeville. Willene was born in Hilham, to the late Albert Gus Sullivan and Ona Mae Hardy Sullivan on July 24, 1920. She completed 8th grade at Hilham in 1938. She worked at the historic Cream City Ice Cream plant in Cookeville and at Sunset Dock for a number of years. Willene is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Ona Mae, siblings Adele Sullivan (infant), Ann Sullivan, Ares Sullivan, Eileen Roberts, Harold Sullivan (infant), Jean Sullivan, John “Bunk” Sullivan, and Willard Sullivan and son-in-law Ronnie Bowers. Willene is survived by daughters Pamela Bowers and Patty Huddleston, husband Carl Huddleston; special nephew Phillip Sullivan and family, grandchildren Cindy Bowers, Julie Bowers, Matt Huddleston, Megan Reeder and husband Matt Reeder, Karla Crabtree and husband Shawn Crabtree; great-grandchildren Clark Reeder, Cara Reeder, Ciara Crabtree, and Emmie Crabtree; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Visitation will be 5:00 pm Saturday, February 23 at Hall Funeral Home of Livingston.

Burial will be in the McDonald Cemetery in the Bolestown Community. Mr. Chuck Smith passed from this life on Wednesday evening, February 20, 2019 from the Overton County Health & Rehab. He was born in Troy, Michigan on February 5, 1944 to the late Earl & Lorene Hartman Smith. Chuck was Baptist in faith and served his country in the Army. He also enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing. Chuck leaves his loving wife Marie McDonald Smith of Livingston; daughters, Tina Carpenter of Warren, MI, Sherry Taffer & husband Jason of Washington, MI, Terri Craton & husband Chris of Lapeer, MI, and Stacy Yapp & husband Mike of Macomb Township, MI; step-daughters, Barbara Ledbetter & husband Lee of Alpine, Carolyn Hammock & husband Charles of Monroe, and Sandra Hoover of Troy, MI; 7 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren; and 6 step-great-grandchildren; brother, John Smith. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his sister. The family will welcome friends on Sunday evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the New Home Baptist Church Cemetery in the Boma Community of Putnam County. Bro. Charlie Wills will officiate. She passed away suddenly Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at her home. She was born February 23, 1959 in Temple, Arizona to the late Herman and Helen Caruthers Coffey. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by step-mother Berneice Coffey, brothers Daniel Coffey and Ralph Coffey. She was a homemaker and attended Stevens Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed drawing, writing poems, and cooking for family gatherings. Family will receive friends Monday after 11 AM at the funeral home.
Funeral services for Jonathan Lasley Ensor, Sr. 82 of Baxter will be Tuesday, February 26 at 2 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Mr. Ensor passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019 at his home in Baxter surrounded by his family. He was born February 18, 1937 in Putnam County to the late Robert Lasley and Nettie Tallant Ensor. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 47 years ( Married July 17, 1963),Margaret Carol Herron Ensor on March 25, 2011. Mr. Ensor proudly served his country in the Army. He then worked in Detroit, MI in the Automotive Industry during the 1960’s. Afterwards, he was able to visit 48 states as a truck driver. He has been retired for several years, but loved to research new roads and routes all across the country. His family includes two daughters and sons-in-law Angela and Richard Medley of Silver Point, Jenny and Ken Birdwell of Baxter, son and daughter-in-law John and Janet Ensor of Baxter, seven grandchildren: Cody, Cole and Haven Medley, Dustin Birdwell, Elana Hammons (Josh), Hailey and Thomas Ensor, three sisters and two brothers-in-law Betty Lou Pugh of Dayton, OH, Virginia and T.J. Bennett of Silver Point, Margaret and Wayne Barron of Evansville, IN, one brother and sister-in-law, James Robert and Dorothy Ensor of Dayton, OH, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 5 to 8 PM and after 11 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services for CW3 (Ret) Douglas B. Harvey, 65 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2019 beginning at 6:00pm from the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will be Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2:00 pm EST in Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Knoxville. Mr. Harvey passed from this life Friday, February 22, 2019, at his home. Mr. Harvey was born Wednesday, July 29, 1953 in Corbin, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Bruce and Della Harvey. Chief Harvey enlisted in the US Army in March of 1971. During the Vietnam Conflict Doug was stationed in Okinawa frequently flying in and out of South Vietnam. While stationed in Hanau, Germany in 1976 he met and married his wife Carol who also served in the US Army. In 1981 he was directly appointed to the rank and grade of Warrant Officer, W01. Chief Harvey deployed to Saudi Arabia in 1990 for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm during which he was awarded a Bronze Star. After retiring from the US Army in 1992 he continued to serve in uniform as an Army JROTC Instructor in Detroit, Michigan. He retired from the Detroit Public Schools in 2009. After his second retirement he continued to serve deploying as a contractor to Afghanistan supporting the War on Terror. A devoted husband and loving father CW3 Douglas B. Harvey is survived by his wife Carol, his son Bryon, his daughter Carrie, his grandsons Joseph and Jonathan and his granddaughters Mirrabella and Brenda. The family will receive friends at Crest Lawn Funeral Home Tuesday, from 5:00 pm until time of service at 6:00 pm. In Lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Doug’s honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
The celebration of Life for Frances Evalene (Phillips) Smith, 88 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Keith Tosh officiating. Frances passed from this life on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at her home surrounded by her family. Frances was born Friday, August 8, 1930, in Jackson County, and she was the daughter of the late Millard and Ova (Young) Phillips. Frances was a loving daughter, mother, granny, and friend. She retired from McCord Winn with 38 years of service. Frances was a member of Central Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years and was currently attending Life Church of Cookeville. She will be greatly missed. Frances is survived by: Daughter: Joyce Smith; 4 Grandchildren: Jeff and Trish Smith, Scott and Lindsey Smith, Mitchell Smith, and Wade England; 8 Great Grandchildren: Heather Smith, Heidi Smith, Holly Smith, Wade England, Jr., Jack England, Jacob Smith, Kelsey Smith, and Tucker Smith; Companion: Toby “Blue Diamond”; A host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by Son, Glen Smith; 3 Sisters, Daffo Allen, Effie Masters, and Jossie Smith; 3 Brothers, Earnest Phillips, Odell “Boots” Phillips, and Roy Phillips; and Special Friend, AJ Lohorn. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.
