Leonard Owen Catlin, Age 61, Of Crawford, Passed Away On Wednesday, January 30, 2019, At His Home. Arrangements are incomplete.

Tom Calloway, age 80 of Baxter, died Tuesday evening at Signature HealthCare-Putnam County in Algood. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Virginia Haston Narramore Cope, age 93 of Sparta, will be conducted 12:00pm Friday, February 1, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Plainview Cemetery in Cassville. Mrs. Margaret Virginia Haston Narramore Cope, age 93 of Sparta, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2019 at NHC of Sparta. Mrs. Cope was born November 10, 1925 in Pikeville, to the late James and Ollie Mae Brock Haston. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husbands Johnny Lee Narramore and Bill Cope; brothers Gaines Haston, James Haston and Billy “Black Cat” Haston. Survivors include her daughter Linda Sue Narramore; Son: James Thomas Narramore, his children Misty, Jessi and Lee; Daughter: Tena Gail Cope and Johnny Pippin; Son: William Edward “Ed” Cope, his children Matthew, Emily and Aaron. The family will receive friends Friday from 11:00am until service time at Hunter Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life services for Champ Douglas Stewart, 76 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, February 1, 2019 at Cookeville First Church of God at 6:00 pm with Pastor Cameron Wilson officiating. Champ passed from this life on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at his home. Champ was born Wednesday, September 16, 1942 in Overton County to the late Willaim Thomas and Myrtle Grace (Carr) Stewart. Champ is survived by: Daughter: Angie Walker; 3 Grandchildren: Brooke Green, Britney Maurer, and Dylan Walker; 3 Great Grandchildren: Davis Burton, Hayden Maurer, and Lily Maurer; Sister: Barbara Lively; Brother: Dewight Stewart. In addition to his parents, Champ was preceded in death by; Daughter, Rhonda Michelle Stewart; and 2 Sisters, Doris Jean Richardson and Nancy Carolyn Bilbrey.

Funeral Services for Elizabeth Jane Thompson Bohannon, age 77 of Sparta, will be conducted at 11am Saturday, February 2, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Gilead United Methodist Church cemetery. Elizabeth Jane Thompson Bohannon, age 77, passed away January 30, 2019, at her residence after a five-year battle with breast cancer. Jane was born October 6, 1941, in Sparta, to Herbert Brown Thompson and Elizabeth Cole Thompson who proceeded her in death. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Sandra Bohannon, and two grandsons, Cole Bohannon and Austin Bohannon, all of Sparta. One sister, Mary Thompson Jones and husband Jack of Sparta, one brother, Bill Thompson of Sparta, sisters-in-law Bill Powell Bohannon of Sparta, and Linda Bohannon Smith and husband Lloyd of Nashville, nephews Jayson Bumbalough and wife Carrie, Pat Thompson and Joey Thompson, all of Sparta, nieces Mary Beth Jones Elrod and husband Anthony of Sparta, and Abby Thompson Sutton and husband Barry of Georgia, and several grand-nieces and nephews. Jane is also survived by her lifelong friend, Jo Nelda LaFever Cawthon of Sparta, who was one of her beloved caregivers in the final months. The family will receive friends from 4pm-8pm Friday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Celebration Of Life Services For Alvie Phillips, Age 79, Of Columbus, Georgia, And Formerly Of Mayland, Tennessee, Will Be Conducted On Saturday, February 2, 2019, At 2:00 PM At the Mayland Baptist Church. Rev. Mike Reagan Will Officiate. Interment Will Precede The Services In The Mayland Cemetery. Mr. Phillips Was Born On May 5, 1939, In Mayland, Tennessee, To The Late William “Bill” And Anna Pearl Byers Phillips. Mr. Phillips Passed Away On Sunday, January 20, 2019, In Columbus, Georgia, At The Columbus Hospice House. Mr. Phillips Was A Man Of Varied Talents And Skills, Including Being The Owner/Operator Of Alvie Phillips Carpet Service, A Former Columbus Police Officer And A Private Pilot. He Was A United States Army Veteran Serving During The Vietnam War, A Member Of Midland Masonic Lodge 114 And A Shriner. He Will Be Remembered As Always Having Fun, Enjoying His Family And Making New Friends Wherever He Went. He Is Survived By, 3 Children, Amy Phillips Ladun And Her Fiancé, Danny, Of Augusta, GA, Alison Kittrell Of Phenix City, AL, Alan Phillips Of Columbus, GA; 5 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters, Cecile Stokes And Sylvia Houston; And A Plethora Of Other Family Members And Close Friends. In Addition To His Parents, He Was Preceded In Death By 2 Brothers, Pete And Claude Phillips. The Family Will Receive Friends At The Mayland Baptist Church On Saturday, February 2, 2019, From 1:00 PM Until The Time Of Services At 2:00 PM.

Funeral services for Mr. Keaton Elliott Rice, age 24 of Doyle, will be conducted 3:00pm Saturday, February 2, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Doyle Cemetery. Keaton passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at his residence. Keaton was born November 24, 1994 in Sparta. He was a heavy equipment operator. His passion was his love for his family and he enjoyed working on or driving anything with wheels or tracks on it. Survivors include his wife and mother of his children Natasha Rice; Son: Daily Rice; Daughter: Anastacia Brown; Mother: Tracy Dillon Parker; Father: James Elliott Rice; Grandmother: Mamie Ruth “Boots” Rice; Twin brother: Chris Rice; Sisters: Misty Rice and Haley Carr; Brothers: Thomas Parker, Nathan Whittenburg, Nicholas Whittenburg, Zachary Dillon, Dale Holt and Caleb Billings; Mother from the heart: Janice Mabe; Inseparable cousin and best friend: Dwayne Simons; Several cousins, aunts and uncles also survive. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1-3:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hunter Funeral Home PO Box 90, Sparta, TN 38583, to help the Rice family with funeral expenses.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Sedois Eldridge, age 94, of Dayton Ohio and formerly of Overton County will be conducted 1 p.m., Sunday, February 3, 2019 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Randy Pickens will officiate. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors provided by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will welcome friends on Saturday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 7 p.m. Mr. Charles Sedois Eldridge passed from this life on January 26, 2019 in Dayton Ohio. Charles was a proud World War II veteran. He was professional painter with the painters union in Dayton, for over 25 years. Charles was a master mason with the Livingston Lodge # 249. He also authored a book titled History Tennessee, My People and Me.

Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Katherine Huddleston Jones, 83, of Algood, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday February 3 in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Phil Young will officiate. Entombment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery. Mrs. Jones passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, January 30, 2019 at her home with her family by her side. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time.
