Cumberland County has hired a human resources director.
County Mayor Allen Foster said the new position will benefit the county as it continues to grow.
“We are a business and a county of over 400 employees,” Foster said. “We just needed help with the normal day-to-day type things that any industry or business needs when it comes to HR services.”
The Cumberland County Commission voted this month to hire Brooke Shaffer. Foster said Shaffer has a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources and General Management as well as a solid background in HR and marketing.
Shaffer will begin serving the position on February 13th.
