BOLO Issued After High Speed Pursuit

Putnam County authorities have issued a BOLO alert after a high-speed pursuit Monday morning.

The chase began when troopers attempted to stop a grey Nissan Altima on Interstate 40 westbound near the 291-mile marker.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said the vehicle refused to stop and eventually took the Willow Avenue exit and headed into Cookeville City limits. Troopers lost contact with the vehicle in the area of Broad Street and Willow Avenue.

Troopers and county units are currently looking for the vehicle involved in the pursuit.

The THP said the vehicle had a Tennessee temporary tag.
