Shooting Investigation Underway In Cumberland County

A Saturday evening shooting is under investigation in Cumberland County.

According to a press release from the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, multiple agencies responded to a reported shooting at approximately 6:38 p.m. on 8610 Cherokee Trail.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office are currently on scene conducting the investigation.

“Due to the fact that this is an ongoing investigation limited information is being released at this time,” Public Information Officer Gary Howard said. “Additional information will be released as the investigation progresses.”

Officials said the scene is secure and there is no danger to the community.

Cherokee Trail is located in the Lake Tansi area.
