Warren County experienced the highest unemployment drop for November 2018 as every county in Tennessee saw job growth.
The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development reports Warren County saw one of the largest unemployment decreases in the state at a 1.1 percent drop. Warren County now has an overall unemployment rating of 3.8 percent.
Smith County currently holds the lowest unemployment rating in the region at 2.9 percent, one of only 10 counties in the state below 3.0. Macon County holds the second-lowest rating in the Upper Cumberland at 3.0.
Jackson and Van Buren counties currently have the highest unemployment ratings in the region at 4.5 percent each despite .4 and .5 percent decreases, respectively. Both counties rank in the state’s top 20 highest unemployment ratings for November 2018.
The state reports unemployment rates have not been adjusted to accommodate seasonal positions.
