Funeral Services for Ms. Johnnie Mildred Beatty, age 90, of Alpine will be conducted 11 A.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Rev. James Shenko will officiate. Burial will be in the Copeland Cemetery on Conatser Lane. The family will welcome friends on Friday evening from 5 to 8 P.M.. Ms. Beatty passed from this life on Tuesday morning, December 18, 2018, from the comfort of her own home. She was born in Beckley, West Virginia, on November 4, 1928, to the late Ross and Odell Waites Beatty. She loved to read her Bible, playing music on her guitar, studying geology, and tending to her cats, dogs, and other animals.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lillian Cibol Breeding Graham, age 86 of the Cherry Creek Community, will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday, December 22, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Howard Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until service time Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Caleb Mackie will officiate. Rodney Owen, James David Mackie, Phillip Graham, Gary Goodwin, Greg Goodwin and Jeff McGehee will serve the family as pallbearers. A Celebration of Life for Richard L Harding, 80 of Cookeville, will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday December 22, 2018 at Algood United Methodist Church at 2:00 with the Pastor Albert Willis officiating. Mr. Harding passed on Friday, December 7, 2018. Born Wednesday, March 23, 1938 in Owasso, Michigan, he was the son of the late Donald Harding and the late Etith Palk Harding. Richard grew up in Cookeville and was very active in Scouting, being one of therefrom Troop 108 who earned Eagle Scout Gold Palm, God and Country and Explorer Silver Award in the mid 1950’s. After proudly serving in the U S Navy he came back to Cookeville attending Tennessee Tech and earning a degree in math. Then spending a brief stent in Maryland he moved to home open a family business, Exotic Tropicals with his Uncle and Aunt Alard and Lovey Harding. The family will receive friends at the Church from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2018. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Algood Methodist Church.
Funeral services for Mr. Earl D. Matthews, age 80 of Livingston, will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 2 PM in the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Poplar Springs cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday from 5 PM to 9 PM and Saturday from 8 AM until 2 PM at the funeral home. Officiating will be Bro. Rick Cross. Mr. Matthews passed passed away at his residence on Wednesday afternoon December 19, 2018. Mr. Earl D. Matthews was born in Livingston, Overton Co., TN to the late Robert E. Lee Matthews and Leta O. Bilbrey Matthews on May 30, 1938.
Funeral services for Mr. Billy Hershel Hunter, 72, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 3 P.M. on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the John Young Cemetery
in the Shiloh community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at his residence. He was born January 10, 1946, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late Hershel Hunter and Jewel Hunter. On December 30, 1966, he was married to Sammie Hunter, who survives. He was a furniture factory worker.
Funeral services for Mr. Owen Junior Sparks, age 85, of Cookeville, will be 1 PM Sunday December 23 at the Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Clarence DeLoach and Bro. Mike Dyer will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Crest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 – 8 p.m and Sunday from 11 AM until time of the service. Mr. Sparks passed away Thursday morning December 20, 2018 at Life Care Center of Sparta. He was born Thursday July 27, 1933 in Cookeville, TN to the late Lester Lee and Mary Lee McCormick Sparks. He was a graduate of Cookeville High School and a Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Sparks was a member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ. He was a retired painter with Cookeville Industries. He enjoyed knife collecting. Elders and deacons of Willow Avenue Church of Christ will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to Willow Meals 1150 S. Funeral services for Ms. Peggy Sue Farmer, age 67 of Sparta, will be conducted graveside 2:00pm Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Dixie-O’Connor Cemetery. Peggy passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at St. Thomas Highlands Hospital. Peggy was born August 23, 1951 in Sparta to the late Denys & Bernice Ethel O’Connor Farmer. She was a seamstress. Peggy loved spending time with her family and cooking. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her twin sister Patricia Ann Grayson. Survivors include her brother Denys Wayne Farmer and wife Melba; Sister: Alice Rice; Brother: Jim Farmer; Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Sunday from 11:00am until departure for the cemetery at 1:45pm at Hunter Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial. Jewell Geneva Jones passed away Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County in Cookeville. She was born Tuesday, April 19, 1921 in Cookeville to the late Levi Preston Randolph and Hallie Belle Welch Randolph. Jewell loved to garden, cook, sew, and most of all she loved her family. Her life was an example of Proverbs 31, the virtuous woman. She was the foundation and cornerstone of her family. She loved Eastwood Baptist Church where she was a Charter Member. She will always be remembered for loving everyone around her and wanting to be their caretaker. Her reputation for baking chocolate and butterscotch pies will long be remembered. In addition to her parents, Jewell Geneva Jones was preceded in death by: her husband, Horace Jones; son Leroy Jones; daughter, Janice Chaffin; grandson, Stephen Jones; three brothers, Herbert Randolph, Hubert Randolph and Johnny Randolph; sister, Mary Heard. She is survived by: daughter, Sandra Eldridge and her husband, Butch of Algood; son, Randy Jones and his wife, Jan of Cookeville; daughter-in-law, Helen Jones of Cookeville; son-in-law, Larry Chaffin of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Jeff Jones and his wife Stephanie, Terry Chaffin and his wife, Stacy, Lisa Eldridge, and David Bowling and his wife Katie, all of Cookeville; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 1 P.M. until time of services. He passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at Signature Health Care Center in Algood. He was born April 30, 1954, in Waco, TX, to Joann Richards Wells and the late Weldon Clay Wells. On July 26, 1974, he was married to Cindy Wells, who survives. He was the minister at Gainesboro Church of Christ. Joe Wells and Dale Wells will officiate at the services. Funeral Services for William S. Hickey, age 92, of Baxter, will be held on Monday, December 24 at 1:00pm from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. The burial will follow at the Morris-Hickey Cemetery in Baxter. William S. Hickey was born on July 20, 1926 in Putnam County to the late Hayes and Nettie Belle Glover Hickey. He passed away on December 21, 2018 at his home in Baxter surrounded by his family. Mr. Hickey was of the Church of Christ faith, was a farmer and worked with Martin Lumber Company for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: wife: Amey Ann Medlin Hickey; Grandson: Randol Ray Grider; Brothers and Sister: Glendale Hickey, Floyd Hickey, Herbert Hickey, Ray Hickey, Charlene Hickey and Lenell Hickey. Survivors include: 2 sons and daughter in-laws: Winnell and Leatha Hickey of Baxter and Willie Hickey of Baxter; 3 Daughters and Son in-laws: Linda and Clarence Grider of Baxter, Brenda and Larry Bandy of Cookeville and Kay Hickey of Baxter; 4 Grandchildren: Chris and Nancy Hickey of Baxter, Ricky and Wendy Bandy of Baxter, Ronnie Grider of Baxter and Dana Hickey of Cookeville; 3 Great Grandchildren: Alexander Grider, Linsey Dunlap and Darcy Hickey; 1 Great Great Grandchild: Aliza Raylynn Dunlap. Mr. Hickey was also survived by his special pet and friend: Scooby Doo. The family will receive friends, at the funeral home, on Sunday from 1:00pm until 8:00pm.
