The Tennessee Highway Patrol has charged a Crossville man with vehicular homicide by intoxication following a crash that killed a woman in Cumberland County Saturday.
Officials said Jamie D. Richards also faces charges of DUI and vehicular assault by recklessness. He was issued citations for no seat belt, failure to maintain traffic lane, exercise due care, and no insurance.
A THP crash report said Richards was traveling northbound on Highway 101 in the southbound lane when he struck a Nissan Versa, driven by 88-year-old George Huxoll. The crash left Huxoll injured and killed his 85-year-old passenger, Bessie Huxoll.
Richards appeared in Cumberland County General Sessions Court Monday. A judge set his bond at $250,000.
