Smithville Woman Killed In Thursday Night Crash

A Thursday night crash in DeKalb County claimed the life of a 28-year-old Smithville woman.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the deceased as Amanda L. Smith.

A Thursday night collision left one woman dead.

According to the THP, Smith was a passenger in a Ford Mustang that struck a 2014 Honda Accord, driven by 36-year-old Charlie R. Holman of Sparta.

Officials said the Mustang was traveling West in the eastbound lane when Holman served left to avoid a collision. The Mustang struck the accord in the passenger side.

The crash report indicates that Holman sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the crash.

The report listed Smith and 30-year-old Raymond H. Rollins of Smithville as a passenger in the Mustang. Rollins sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the crash.

The THP has not yet determined if Rollins or Smith had been driving the Mustang during the crash.
