Authorities are investigating a hit-and-run incident in DeKalb County after a Brush Creek man was found dead Sunday morning.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports 51-year-old Gyula Guylas was walking east on Highway 70 when an unidentified vehicle traveling westbound struck him. The vehicle then drove away from the scene.
The incident reports indicates Guylas left his vehicle at a nearby bar stuck in a ditch. Officials say test results show Guylas had been drinking prior to being struck.
The vehicle and driver involved in the incident have not been identified at this time. THP officials say the investigation is ongoing and criminal charges are pending.
