Sewer Work to Close Part of North Washington Ave. Thursday

Part of North Washington Avenue in Cookeville will be temporarily closed Thursday as crews work to repair sewer lines.

Operations Superintendent Carey Phy reports crews will close the northbound lane at noon starting at East 4th Street.

Phy says the North Washington project is being done now to prepare for a repaving project in the area later this spring.

North Washington will be fully reopened once repairs are complete. A private contractor is working on the project.
