Construction crews have begun the process of creating a new skate park in Cookeville.
According to Cookeville’s Leisure Services Department, Park View Park and the neighboring playground will be temporarily closed during the construction process.
The department reports the parking lot will also be unavailable during construction. The park will remain closed until construction is complete.
Leisure Services officials ask citizens to not go near the shelter structure near the construction site during the process as well.
Cookeville City Council officially approved the project bid in October with the total cost amounting to just under $850,000. State grant requirements call for the project to be completed by May 2019.
