Former Jackson Co. Court Clerk Passes Away

A former Jackson County Circuit Court Clerk has passed away over the weekend.

Joe. B. Ward died Saturday at his residence in Gainesboro.

Ward served for 12 years as the Jackson County Circuit Court Clerk and was a charter member of the Jackson County Rescue Squad.

In addition, Ward served as Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 429 at Flynns Lick and was the county’s civil defense director for several years.

Funeral services for the 83-year-old Ward will be held Monday at Noon at Anderson-Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro.
