Upperman Officials Preparing For Big Crowd Friday

Upperman High School officials expect as many as 4,000 fans to show up for Friday night’s state semi-final game in Baxter.

Athletic director Greg Wilson said local agencies gathered Tuesday morning to make final preparations.

“Everybody met this morning to make sure we are ready,” Wilson said. “We are having to move in some extra seating and get the field ready because its been played on for over two-and-a-half months and has taken its abuse.”

Putnam County Parks and Recreation will be installing more temporary visitor seating over the next 24 hours.

These temporary seats stand in addition to capacity seating that has already been added for the post season.

Wilson said he expects standing-room-only for Friday night’s game.

The Bees host the Alcoa Tornadoes for a chance to play in the class 3-A state championship game.
