Mr. William “Bill” Horton, age 76 of Walling, passed away Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at his residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. John Jay Mullen, age 63, of the Dodson Branch Community, passed away Tuesday evening November 13, 2018 at his home. He was born March 7, 1955 in Meiwether County, GA to the late Dudley Alfred Jr. and Annie Sue Garrett Mullen. Mr. Mullen was a US Marine Corp veteran having served during the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by his son, John (Mary) Mullen of the Dodson Branch Community; daughter, Jamie (Kyle) Barton of Elk River, MN; brother, Steven Mullen of Sparta; and seven grandchildren, Ethan, Irelynn, Connor, Greyson, Colton, Johnny and Korrin. Private services will be held at a later date.

Celebration Of Life Services For Golda Walker Bohannon, Age 89, Of Monterey, Will Be Conducted On Wednesday, November 14, 2018, At 6:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Interment Will Follow In The Whittaker Cemetery On Thursday, November 15, 2018, At 1:00 PM. Mrs. Bohannon Was Born On January 9, 1929, In Monterey, To The Late Harvey Dillard And Cassie Hasseltie Howard Walker. Mrs. Bohannon Passed Away On Sunday, November 11, 2018, At Her Home. She And Her Husband, Collie, Built Monterey Dairy Queen In 1956 And Operated It For Many Years. She Was Called “Nana” By Family And Friends And Was Loved By All. She Prided Herself In Her Cooking Abilities And Creating Big Spreads On Holidays For Her Family. She Was A Teller Of Stories From Her Childhood Days In Walker Hollow. She Was A Faithful Member Of First Baptist Church In Monterey, And Enjoyed The XYZ’s Activities. Funeral services for James “Ace” L. Young, 71, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Sam Flatt Cemetery on Shepardsville Highway in Jackson County. He passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018, at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was born October 10, 1947, in Jackson County, to the late Henry Young and Frances Young. He was a construction worker, and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era as a Sergeant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother: Donald Young; and 1 Sister: Kathy Wentworth. Survivors include 2 Sons: James Michael (Amber) Young and Louis (Tara) Perez, all of MI; 2 Daughters: Michelle (Daniel) Vandro and Lisa Kashat, all of MI; 10 Grandchildren: Austin, Jeremy, Victoria, Mia, Ava, Layla, Setaura, Max, Damon, and Eagon; 1 Sister: Debbie (Larry) Rector of Cookeville; and his Significant Other: Liz Lane of Cookeville. Rev. Dwight Henry Will Officiate With Internment To Follow In The Phillips Cemetery In The Anderson Community. Mr. Bates Was Born On June 14, 1944, In Massillon, Ohio, To The Late Orval And Mary Hurst Bates. Mr. Bates Passed Away On Sunday, November 11, 2018, At His Home. Mr. Bates Was An Automotive Mechanic. He Was A United States Army Veteran Serving During The Vietnam And Korean War. He Was Baptist In Faith. Funeral services for George Michael Flatt, 57, of Gainesboro, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Pharris Cemetery in the McCoinsville community of Jackson County. He passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018, at his residence. He was born September 20, 1961, in Gainesboro, to the late James E. Flatt and Mary Helen Stafford Flatt. On March 7, 1981, he was married to Bonnie Kilmon Flatt, who survives. He was a factory worker at Nielsen, and a member of the Free State Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Infant Brother: James Daniel Flatt; Paternal Grandparents: James Harvey and Lura Ann Flatt; and Maternal Grandparents: Luke and Elizabeth Stafford. Survivors include his Wife: Bonnie Kilmon Flatt of Gainesboro; 1 Brother: Ricky Flatt of Gainesboro; and 1 Sister: Kathy Marie Flatt of Gainesboro. Other relatives and friends also survive. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Thursday from 11 A.M. until time of services. Funeral services for Mr. James Lester “Jim” Horton, age 66 of Sparta, will be conducted 3:00pm Thursday, November 15, 2018 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Jim passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his sister’s residence. Jim was born September 26, 1952 in Sparta to the late Herman & Viola Briggs Horton. He worked for over 35 years at Duramatic in McMinnville. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and riding the roads of White County with a twist of King B. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by brother in law Ken Patrick. Survivors include his brother Robert (Treva) Horton; Sister: Carolyn Horton Patrick; Nieces: Valorie (Ken) Crouch, Julie Henson; Nephew: Michael (Emily) Horton; Two great-nieces; Six great-nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00pm until service time at Hunter Funeral Home. Ronnie Taylor will officiate.

Funeral services for Phyllis Ann Wilmoth, age 88 of Cookeville, will be Friday, November 16 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Rev. Ryan Barnhart will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and again Friday morning from 10 a.m. until service time at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. David Earl Sparks, age 81 of Cookeville, will be held Friday November 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Brown’s Mill Cemetery. Mr. Sparks died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. His family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time funeral home.

Funeral services for Doris Ann Daulton, 76 of Sparta, will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Thurman Funeral Home. Internment at Stone Seminary Cemetery. Ms. Daulton died Monday, November 12, 2018 at NHC of Sparta. Born July 26, 1942, in Pleasant Hill, TN, she was a daughter of the late Aubrey C. Randolph and the late Hattie Jo Wilson Randolph. Doris worked at Potter Children Orphan Home and School for 40 years in Bowling Green, KY and the she was also a Foster Mother to many children for 15 years. She dedicated her life to serving God and doing his work faithfully everyday of her life, She was the President of NAMI (National Alliance of the Mentally Ill) Bowling Green, KY Chapter. Family will accept visitors on Friday November 16, 2018 in the chapel of Thurman Funeral home from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Funeral services for Mark Keith Wilmoth, age 60, of Rickman will be held Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Pastors Bill Haney and Larry Keith officiating. Interment will follow in West Cemetery in the Fairview Community. Mark Keith Wilmoth passed away Monday, November 12, 2018 at his home in Livingston. He was born Saturday, January 11, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan to Jo Ellen Warren and the late Kenneth Wilmoth. Mark worked in construction for over forty years installing windows, siding and general carpentry. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by: his wife Sandra Wilmoth; daughter, Tonya Kelly; sister, Cynthia Dwyer; niece, Amy Miller. He is survived by: his mother, Jo Ellen Williams, of Dayton, Ohio; three daughters, Jaclyn (Tony) McCloud of Cookeville, Racquel (Josh) Eich of Cookeville, and Mariah Wilmoth of Rickman; six grandchildren, Dylan Penley, Amara Penley, Marcus Penley, Haven Hix, Parker Williams, and Bo Daniel Eich; three sisters, Linda (Dan) Lawson of Texas, Debra Lawrence of Indiana, and Lori Ree of Arkansas; six brothers, Jim Allen of Arizona, Michael Allen of Washington, D.C., Timothy (Nancy) Wilmoth, Terry Allen of Dayton, Ohio, James (JoAnn) Haney, and Edward Haney; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 16, 2018, 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM and Saturday, November 17, 2018, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Gerldean Brown Sisco, age 84, of Fayetteville, GA, and formerly of Cookeville, will be at 1 p.m Saturday November 17 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Gerald Padgett will officiate. Interment will follow in the Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Sisco passed away peacefully at home Monday morning November 12, 2018 in Fayetteville, GA. She was born December 22, 1933 in Overton County to the late Enoch and Mary Alice Phillips Brown. Husband of 57 years, Carlen Sisco, and sisters Noble Yalanzon and Juanita McCrobie preceded her in death. Mrs. Sisco was a member of Monterey First Baptist Church. She and her family lived in Kettering, OH for over 30 years where she was a member of Kettering First Baptist Church. She had retired from Standard Register in Dayton, OH. Mrs. Sisco is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Larry & Lisa Sisco of Fayetteville, GA; sister, Rita (Jack) Parker of Indiana; five grandchildren, Cassie (Jack) Wheatley, Cody, Devin, Sean, and Victoria Sisco; and three great-grandchildren, Madison, Hope, and Colton Wheatley. Celebration of Life services for Willie Creed McCormick, 89 of Cookeville, will be held at 4pm on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Sparta with Brad Walker officiating. Willie passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018, at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. Born Sunday, February 10, 1929 in Spencer, he was the son of the late James and Lydia Dodson McCormick. He was the husband of Edna Luna McCormick. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sparta for many years. He loved to fish and enjoyed being a Husband, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather to his family. Survivors include: Wife- Edna McCormick of Cookeville; Son- Allan McCormick (Becky) of Davidsonville, MD; Daughter-Tracy Burnette(Tim) of Lenoir City; Grandchildren- Brad and Brian McCormick; Tyler and Tanner Burnette; Great-Grandchildren- Madison, Gabriella, Charlotte, William, Foster McCormick. Haisley Grace and Mabry Kate Burnette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Larry McCormick. The family will receive friends from 3pm until time of the service.
