Multiple Meth Arrests Reported Over Long Weekend

This past weekend, Cumberland County deputies made five drug-related arrests stemming from four separate traffic stops.

Late Friday night, deputies charged 45-year-old Melody Jo Jones of Crossville with felony meth possession, felony evidence tampering and resisting arrest after a traffic stop on Plateau Road. Placed under $20,000 bond, Jones was additionally cited for following too closely.

Late Saturday night, deputies stopped 51-year-old Henry Boyd Adams of Pleasant Hill along Highway 70 West for a routine violation. Adams reportedly appeared “overly nervous” when a deputy approached his truck. A K-9 officer alerted officers to the presence of drugs. A search turned up a spoon with meth residue. Adams later admitted having two additional bags of meth in his sock. Charged with felony possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia, Adams was placed under $6,000 bond.

Early Sunday morning, deputies stopped a vehicle on Big Horn Drive. A passenger, 37-year-old Roger Joe Norris of Crossville, had 1.06 grams of meth in his possession. Norris was arrested for felony possession of meth and placed under $10,000 bond.

And Cumberland County deputies arrested two Crossville residents late Sunday night during a routine traffic stop on Wayne Avenue. A consent search of the vehicle turned up meth, as well as a crushed pill inside 28-year-old Lisa Nicole Nelson’s bra. Deputies also found 15 eight-mg Suboxone pills in 27-year-old James Derrick Lewis’ wallet. Charged with possession of meth and simple possession, Nelson was placed under $5,000 bond. Lewis was charged with felony manufacture, sale or delivery of a controlled substance and placed under $5,000 bond.

All five are due in court December 10.
