The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting its fourth annual Trunk or Treat this Saturday.
Sheriff Casey Cox said it’s something he and his staff looks forward to every year.
“It’s in a good, safe, and controlled environment and it allows the employees of the sheriff’s office to get to see those ghouls and goblins and the smiles on their (children) faces,” Cox Said. “They (children) get to see the law enforcement community in a positive light and sometimes those children don’t get to see that all the time because of things that may be going on in their homes and in their lives.”
Cox said well over a thousand people have attended each year. With so many people attending, parking can become a real issue.
“The difficulty to it is the parking and when people do come, I ask that they be safe where they park their vehicles,” Cox said.
The event will take place at 5:00 Saturday in the lobby of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
