A 22-year-old Cookeville man faces a driving under the influence charge following a crash that left three people injured Wednesday night.
Cookeville Police said Rafael Gomez Francisco was driving a black SUV when he ran a red light at the intersection of South Willow Avenue and Interstate Drive. His vehicle totaled two other automobiles before coming to a stop in the Arby’s parking lot.
According to the arrest report, officers arrived on scene and identified Francisco as the driver of the SUV.
The report said Francisco was arrested for DUI after an inventory of the vehicle revealed an open margarita in the center console.
Police also issued charges of driving without a license and resisting arrest after he allegedly pulled away from officers attempting to make the arrest.
