Rush Towing Service in Cookeville will be taking donations to areas affected by Hurricane Michael.
Owner Steve Kincaid said he decided to start collecting items to donate after delivering supplies to a friend last week.
“It touched my heart so much that I was able to put a team together on my way back. Right now, we have seven trailers and numerous volunteers to help us,” Kincaide said. “It’s just very heartbreaking to see these people that have nothing and had something a week ago. It’s consumed my mind since I left there and that’s all I’ve done, is try to get this together to get these people some help.”
Kincaid has set up donation drop-off locations at four different areas across Cookeville. The City of Algood allowed him to use city hall as one of those sites.
“We have a great opportunity to show people we are truly volunteers,” Chapman-Fowler said. “We are encouraging everyone to come by Algood City Hall and bring what they can.”
Kincaid and his team will be leaving Friday evening to take the donations to the Panama City area.
“We are going house-to-house when we get there. We aren’t setting up in the streets, but we are going house-to-house in the smaller neighborhoods and hardest hit and most effected areas,” Kincaid said.
Drop-off locations can be found at IGA on Washington Avenue, River Community Church, F&M Bank on Washington Avenue, Algood City Hall, and Rush Towing Service on East 15th Street.
