Generally, during monthly City Council meetings, Crossville Mayor James Mayberry is accustomed to making proclamations and presenting plaques to various recipients.
However, earlier this week, members of the AARP turned the tables and made a presentation to Mayor Mayberry and other members of the community – including representatives from the Fairfield Glade and Lake Tansi Property Owners associations.
AARP State President Craig Smith and East Tennessee Director Tracy Matthews presented a plaque that identifies Crossville as an AARP Age-Friendly Community. The city was so designated for its commitment to the retirees who relocate here, its range of services and active-lifestyle accommodations.
