Traffic Stop Nets Two Arrests on Meth Charges

Monday night, Cumberland County deputies stopped a vehicle along the 400 block of West Creston Road. The driver, Wesley Vance Sherrill, age 33, of Crossville, was placed under arrest for outstanding warrants and driving on a suspended license.

After driving Sherrill back to his home, deputies additionally charged him with possession of a Schedule II drug for resale after Sherrill directed them to 1.1 grams of meth in a box hidden under his mattress and electronic scales with an off-white residue on them.

Sherrill admitted purchasing approximately 3.5 grams of meth within the past three days, intending to sell it to as many as seven customers. He additionally admitted he’d been selling meth for the past four to five months.

Sherrill’s bond was set at $35,000; he has an October 11 court date.

Also arrested during the traffic stop was 28-year-old Whitney Nicole Robbins of Crossville; she was arrested for manufacture, sale, delivery or possession of meth, as well as an outstanding warrant. Robbins was placed under $11,000 bond and is due to appear in court November 5.
