Yesterday afternoon, Cumberland County deputies stopped a large dump truck along Highway 70 West for traveling at a high rate of speed; radar clocked the driver going approximately 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. A passenger, 26-year-old Christian Gage Houston of Crossville, was found to have outstanding warrants, and a consensual search of his backpack turned up drug paraphernalia and packets containing approximately 0.2 gram of a crystalline substance that field tested positive for meth.
Houston was arrested and charged with violation of probation, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession of meth. He was placed under $5,000 bond and a court date has been set for November 5.
