Second Arrest in Four Days for Bobby Lynn Norris

Just four days after his arrest for felony auto theft and assorted misdemeanors, Bobby Lynn Norris of Crossville was arrested again Tuesday afternoon on drug charges.

Norris, age 37, was spotted riding a bicycle erratically along Burnett Street. According to the arrest report, Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies are familiar with Norris’ prior drug activity and the deputy who conducted the stop noticed “a large bulge” in Norris’ right-front pocket. When asked to submit to a search, Norris refused, but agreed to a pat down.

The deputy said he felt two syringes in Norris’ pocket and, while he was retrieving them, a bottle also came out of Norris’ pocket; it contained a plastic bag with a substance that field tested positive for meth. Contents of a second bag also field tested positive for meth. A third bag held a green leafy substance, believed to be marijuana.

Additionally, Norris had $1,684 in U.S. currency in his possession, believed to be proceeds from illegal drug trade.

He was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, simple possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Norris’ bond was set at $36,000 and he is due to appear in court November 5.
