Richard Manchester Davis , 89 of Sparta, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at his residence. Born Sunday, June 30, 1929 in Quidnick, Rhode Island, he was the son of the late Henry Davis and the late Maud Manchester Davis. He was the husband of Bonnie Bartow Davis. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Davis of Sparta; son, Peter Rogers Davis (Sarah Jayne) of LaGrange, New York; son, Steven Rogers Davis (Barbara) of New Canaan, CT; son, Christopher Rogers Davis (Selma) of MA; and seven grandchildren, Rachel and Jack; MacKenzie and Ryan; and Oliva, Henry, and Morgan Davis. The family has chosen cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
A gathering for friends and family of Daniel Wittenberg, age 66, of Cookeville, will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday October 5 at Dyer Funeral Home. Daniel passed away Tuesday October 2, 2018 at his home. He was born December 8, 1951 in Venton, IA. to the late Donald and Algean Wittenberg. He was Mechanic for many years. He is survived by his wife, Linda Austin Wittenberg; 14 Children; 18 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers; 1 Sister. In Addition To Her Father, She Is Survived By, 2 Grandchildren, Tiffany Sisco Of Crossville, Ashley, And Her Spouse, Julie Fossett Of Crossville; 4 Great Grandchildren, Ariana Goss, Anastasia Anderson, Layah Howard, And Braeleigh Fossett; 1 Sister And Brother-In-Law, Faye And Jack Swafford Of Monterey. In Addition To Her Mother, She Was Preceded In Death By, 2 Daughters, Tammy Hasty And Gina Phillips; And Granddaughter, Jaclyn Phillips. Funeral services will be held for Mr. James Robert Stewart, age 66 of Livingston, on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11 AM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Mount Gilead Cemetery. Mr. Stewart passed away from this life on Wednesday evening, October 3, 2018. Mr. Stewart was born in Livingston on May 8, 1952 to the late James H. and Birtha (Greenwood) Stewart. James was a Supervisor for a Pallet Company. Survivors include: 1 Daughter: Amber Jones and her husband Jeremy; 1 Grandson: Cameron Jones; 1 Brother: Paul Stewart; 3 Sisters: Brenda Greenwood, Sue Ann Stewart and William Emerton, Charlotte Laycock and husband Gary; Special Friend: Crystal Smith; A host of Nieces, Nephews, family and friends also survive. Preceded in death: In addition to his parents; 1 Sister: Debbie Cox; 1 Brother: Fowler Stewart; 1 Brother In-Law: James Greenwood. Funeral services for Mrs. Donna Jean “Jeanie” Ashby, age 73 of Cookeville, will be held Monday October 8 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Arlington of Tennessee Cemetery. Jeanie’s family will receive friends Sunday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at Dyer Funeral Home.
