Two Arrested for Meth Possession on South Willow

Cookeville Police arrested two individuals for possession of methamphetamine during a traffic stop on South Willow Avenue.

Travis Dugas, 31, and Shania Hammock, 22, both of Cookeville, are being held at the Putnam County Jail on multiple charges.

According to CPD Captain Bobby Anderson, Dugas attempted to run away from the arresting officer during the traffic stop but was quickly apprehended.

Anderson also reports the officer recovered a firearm from Dugas during the stop. No word how much of the controlled substance was recovered during the stop.

Dugas faces one count each of manufacture, deliver, or sell a controlled substance, possession of a firearm, and evading arrest. He was booked into jail Tuesday on $15,500 bond. Hammock was also booked into jail Tuesday for manufacturing, delivering, or selling controlled substance, and placed on $10,241 bond.
