Livingston Begins Accepting Liquor Store Applications

Livingston began accepting applications for retail package stores on Tuesday.

The city’s board of mayor and aldermen have approved final reading of an ordinance regulating the sale and locations of future liquor stores.

The town’s ordinance puts no limit on how many liquor stores can open up or how closely they can operate in proximity to a church or public places. The ordinance also allows package stores to locate in all commercial districts.

Mayor Curtis Hayes has recommended a $400 application fee and annual privilege fee for each potential store.
