Susan Kay House- Marlatt, age 54 of Crossville, passed away on September 25, 2018 at Covenant Medical Center in Crossville. She was born in Blossburg, PA to James and Helen House on May 18, 1964. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Helen House; brothers, James and Kenny House; and niece, April Tyler. She is survived by her husband, Charles Marlatt of Crossville; children, Cody Marlatt (Haley Bertram), Darcy Marlatt (Tyler Flannery) Both of Tennessee, Brandon Marlatt (Whitney Prutsman) of Almond, NY, Brittany Marlatt (Mike Eveland) of Hornell, Along with Six grandchildren and six sisters and one brother. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mrs. Rita Mae Carter, age 75 of Algood, will be held Saturday September 29th at 11 a.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Algood Heritage Cemetery. Mrs. Carter’s family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. She died Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at Bethesda Health Care Center.

Memorial services for Willene Judd Reed, 89, of Cookeville will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Daughrity and Horace Burks officiating. Inurnment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Mrs. Reed passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at her home. She was born Saturday, October 13, 1928 in Cookeville, TN to the late Walter Carr and Inda Judd. Mrs. Reed spent part of her life in Roseville, MI where she was a homemaker. She attended Sycamore and Zion Church of Christ. Willene loved taking care of her family and spending time with them and her friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Reed and a brother, Walter Judd. Willene is survived by son, Rick Reed and wife Pam of Cookeville; daughter, Sharon Lee and husband Francis of Lebanon, TN; four grandchildren, Tiffany Reed of Chattanooga, Will Reed of Cookeville, Jacob (Kayla) Lee of Lebanon and Josh (Kelly) Lee of Ramsey, NJ; six great grandchildren; brother in law, Tom Reed and wife Carolyn of Arizona. The family will receive friends Friday, September 28, 2018 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family request memorial contributions be made to Sycamore Church of Christ for their SOC college group, 1144 Crescent Dr. Cookeville, TN 38501.

Funeral Services For Drenia Wilson, Age 49, Of Monterey, Will Be Conducted On Saturday, September 29, 2018, At 11:00 AM From The Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church In Monterey. Bro. Bobby Roberts And Bro. Mike Kirby Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Mineral Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson Was Born On May 23, 1969, In Cookeville, To The Late Alver Joe And Ruth Thompson Quarles. Mrs. Wilson Passed Away On Thursday, September 27, 2018, At Her Home. Mrs. Wilson Had Worked With CoLinx As A Supervisor And With The Overton County School System As A Teacher Assistant, Bus Driver And Cook. She Was A Member Of The Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church Where She Served As Sunday School Treasurer. She Is Survived By Her Husband Of 28 Years, Dale Wilson Of Monterey; 3 Daughters And 2 Sons-In-Law, Jessica Sherrill Of Livingston, Candy And Allen Johnson Of Grant, MI, Sara And Corey Williams Of Cookeville; 3 Sons And 2 Daughters-In-Law, Christopher And Heather Wilson Of Cookeville, Kirk Elrod Of Cookeville, Josh And Molly Wilson Of Nashville; 14 Grandchildren; 4 Sisters, Twin, Trenia Taylor Of Baxter, Karen Leeds Of Crossville, Debbie Neal Of Byrdstown, Sara Jo Lucas Of AL; And 1 Brother, Kenny Quarles Of Crossville. In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Brother, Dale Quarles. The Family Will Receive Friends At Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church On Friday, September 28, 2018, From 5:00 PM Until 8:00 PM And On Saturday, September 29, 2018, From 9:00 AM Until Time Of Services At 11:00 AM. Funeral service for Willie Edna Selby, 95 of Sparta, will begain at 1pm on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Dwight Fuqua officiating with burial to follow in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Edna passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Life Care Center of Sparta. Born Thursday, December 21, 1922 in Sparta, she was the daughter of John Thomas Wright and Lula Mae Howard Wright. Mrs. Edna was a lifetime member of the Findlay Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Gary Selby (Linda) of Sparta; grandson, Cameron Selby of Sparta; granddaughter, Laurie Ann Selby Neeley (Dustin) of Franklin; step grandson, Neal Goodwin (Rhonda) of Sparta; step granddaugter, Jenny Thacker (Chris) of Sparta; brother, Charles “Corky” Wright (Mary Jane) of Florida; eight great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Selby; brothers, Thomas, Donald, and Hubert Wright; and sister, Louise Raines. Visitation will be held from 11am until 1pm. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in her memory to the Findlay building fund.

Funeral services for Mildred Virginia Dunn, age 86, of Baxter will be held Saturday, September 29th, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Boiling Springs Cemetery with Pastor Ted Kocher officiating. Interment will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 29, 2018, 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at Presley Funeral Home. Mildred Virginia Dunn passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee following a brief illness. She was born Saturday, January 21, 1932 in Baxter, Tennessee to the late James W. Dunn and Vallie Hutchings Dunn. Mrs. Dunn will always be remembered for her sweet personality. She loved spending time with her family, shopping on QVC, fishing, and watching sports. She had a lifelong quest for learning.

Funeral services for Mr. Larry “ Pee Wee” Raymond Cherry, age 55 of Gainesboro, will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 3 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Celina with burial to follow in the Jonestown Cemetery located in Moss. Larry passed away from this life at his residence on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Mr. Larry “Pee Wee” Raymond Cherry was born in Gallatin to the late Rentford M. and Audrey (Reecer) Cherry. Larry was a car detailer. He will be missed by all who knew him. Survivors: He is survived by 5 Brothers: Steve Cherry, Stanley Cherry, Barry Cherry, Danny Cherry, Connie Mack Cherry; 3 Sisters: Patricia Cherry Bybee, Janet Cherry Shrum, Sheila Cherry Lea. A host of Nieces and Nephews whom he loved very much. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by: Twin brother Jerry Cherry. Mrs. Catlin Passed Away On Monday, September 24, 2018, At Vanderbilt University Medical Center In Nashville, Tennessee. Mrs. Catlin Was A Homemaker. Funeral services for Ernest C. Slagle, 96, of Cookeville, will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, September 30 in the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West Cemetery. Ernest passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born on December 5, 1921 to the late Lester and Bertie Slagle in Cookeville. He served in the Army during World War II in the 1st Army 610 Combat Engineers fighting in Normandy, Battle of the Bulge (St Vith, Belgium) and Berlin. Ernest was a proud firefighter in Cookeville for many years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed transporting cars for several local car dealerships. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Daisy Randolph Slagle, his parents and one sister, AnnaLee Brewington. He is survived by his family which includes a daughter and son-in-law, Bernice and Ted Tlanda of Elkridge, MD; two grandchildren, Marianne Vanhooser and husband (Bobby) of Cookeville, and Alan Moss and wife (Willa) of Vicksburg, MS; four great-grandchildren, Jordan and Katie Rohr and Coe and Clay Vanhooser; and a sister, Jean Maxwell of Baxter, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins whom he dearly loved. Ernest was a devoted member of Samaria Church of Christ. He loved the Lord and his church family. The family will receive friends from 4-7 pm Saturday, September 29, and at 1:00 pm until time of services at 2:00 pm on Sunday also at the funeral home.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Jimmy Ray Curtis age 63, of Allons will be held 3 p.m, Sunday, September 30,2018 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Caleb Simpson will officiate. The family will welcome friends Sunday from 2 until time of services. Mr. Curtis passed from this life on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at his residence. Mr. Curtis was born in Arkansas, March 30,1955 to the late Wilburn and Susan Mayo Curtis. Mr. Curtis worked as a Carpenter in residential building. He was member of the Allons Church of Christ. Mr. Curtis enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, love nature, the woods and enjoyed farming. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

Memorial services for John “Big John” Alva Huddleston, 77 of Baxter, will be Wednesday, October 3 at 1 PM from the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will be in New Home Baptist Church Cemetery at a later date. Mr. Huddleston died Wednesday September 26, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 29, 1941 in the Gentry Community of Putnam County to the late Max C. and Mollie Elizabeth Pullum Huddleston. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, James “Jim” Robert Huddleston and a sister-in-law Helen Boyd Huddleston. He was a 1959 graduate of Baxter Seminary. He was owner-operator of Big John’s Upholstery in Baxter/Cookeville since 1974. John served as a Trustee at Baxter United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, going to car shows and being with family and friends. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Wayne and Leisa Huddleston of Nashville, Micky and Lisa Huddleston of Cookeville, sisters Mary (Charles) Petty, Nancy (Larry) Williams all of Cookeville, Sarah (Harold) Brown of Baxter, brothers R.C. Huddleston of Silver Point, David Huddleston of Hilham, Larry (Patricia) Huddleston of Cookeville, grandchildren: Andrea Huddleston (Brandon) Parks, Josh Huddleston and Molly Huddleston, great-grandchildren: Kayden Wayne Parks and Alyssa Rose Parks, host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 to 8 PM and after 11 AM Wednesday at the funeral home.
