NWS Confirms EF-1 Tornado In Fentress County

The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado touched down in Fentress County Wednesday morning.

Officials said the twister touched down just after midnight on Campground Road in the Muddy Pond area.

NWS Meteorologist Faith Borden said most of the damage was consistent with an EF-0 tornado, but some of the damage indicated an EF-1. Officials said the tornado traveled about a half mile and had a width of 50-yards with winds of up to 90 miles per hour.

Officials responded to 1780 Campground Road and found a home with severe damage and a barn that had been moved off its foundation. No injuries occurred.
