A new chocolate store in Spencer is targeting a Sept. 27 opening date following final inspections.
Arete Fine Chocolates is scheduled to go through one final inspection process by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture on Sept. 26 before opening.
According to Arete Founder David Senk, the store is slated to open shortly after assuming the inspection goes well.
The opening of Arete was pushed back several times over the summer months due to scheduling conflicts and renovation delays.
Senk and his wife, Leslie, first opened Arete Fine Chocolate in San Jose, California. The couple decided to move their business to keep costs down and to be closer to family.
Arete Fine Chocolates will be located in the Haston Block Building on Veterans Square.
