TBI Investigating Deadly Shooting in Crossville

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a shooting at the Cumberland County Schools Bus Garage in Crossville that left two dead and a suspect injured Friday.

TBI Public Information Officer Josh DeVine said during a press conference a man and a woman were killed while the suspected shooter was flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. DeVine reports the suspect had what appeared to be a self-inflicted wound to the head.

The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while the male victim died after being transported to the hospital.

At approximately 2:35 p.m., EMS crews arrived at the scene, while the suspect was flown to Chattanooga around 3:22 p.m.

DeVine reports no children were at or near the scene at the time of the shooting. No additional suspect is believed to be involved in the incident.

Neither the victims or the shooter were identified nor was a motive given. TBI is working with Crossville Police in the investigation.
