Putnam County continues to see an increase in the number of building permits issued.
According to County Executive Randy Porter, 29 permits were issued last month, with 20 being for single-family residential homes. The 29 permits resulted in $4.5 million for construction.
“Our economy continues to hit on all cylinders with record construction and low unemployment,” Porter writes in a press release.
Porter said the first two months of the 2018-2019 fiscal year have seen a 19 percent increase in total construction, with 64 building permits issued generating $8.5 million through July and August.
Since 2015, The county has issued over 1,000 building permits not including construction within city limits, resulting in $123 million in construction costs. Just over 60 percent of all permits issued in that time frame were for single-family residential homes.
