Pickett County sheriff’s deputies discovered a box of hand grenades and a meth lab during a drug investigation last week.
The Pickett County Sheriff’s Office released a statement Thursday that said the discovery occurred at a home in the Taylor’s Crossroads Community.
According to the press release, officers went to the home after receiving complaints of drug activity. Officials said a search of the home revealed a meth lab and a box containing approximately 18 hand grenades.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol Special Operations team responded to the home to check and secure the explosives, which were destroyed at a safe location.
Police arrested two unidentified people during the investigation. The sheriff’s office said the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.
