Local Drug Dealer Convicted In Criminal Court

A Putnam County jury found a Sparta man guilty Wednesday on a single count of methamphetamine possession with intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell.

47-year-old Eddie Maddle will be sentenced in Putnam County Criminal Court next month.

Putnam County authorities charged Maddle in 2015 after a search of his home yielded drugs and chemicals associated with the manufacture of meth.

“Drugs are a scourge to any community. This is exactly the type of illegal behavior that will not be tolerated in this county,” Sheriff Eddie Farris said. “If you participate in or conduct illegal drug trafficking activity, we will find you and arrest you,”

Maddle has a history of drug related arrests and reckless behavior. He has previously been arrested for general sessions capias fail to appear or pay; possession of schedule 1 drug; possession of a schedule IV drug; manufacture, delivery and sale of a controlled substance; meth precursor; tampering with evidence; violation of the Meth Free Tennessee Drug Act; intent to manufacture methamphetamine; assault; vandalism; driving on a revoked or suspended license; failure to maintain school attendance; unlawful possession of a weapon; criminal trespassing; and DUI.

Maddle’s wife, Bobby Sue, pleaded guilty to seven counts of selling meth in 2017 in regards to the same investigation. She received two 15-year sentences and five, 9-year sentences to be served concurrent.
