More volunteers are needed for the upcoming Remote Area Medical Clinic in Fentress County.
Remote Area Medical (RAM) Media Relations Specialist Robert Lambert said the organization specifically needs more dental and vision professionals.
“If you are a dental professional or vision professional we could really use your support,” Lambert said. “General support is needed as well. Everyday people like you and me may not work in the medical field but we always have a job for everyone.”
You can volunteer for a position by visiting the RAM website at https://www.ramusa.org/.
RAM expects to treat approximately 500 people from Fentress County and the surrounding counties during the two-day clinic. This will be RAM’s first visit to Fentress County.
“We open the parking lot at midnight and at 3 a.m. we hand out tickets before opening the doors at 6 a.m.,” Lambert said. “All of our services are first come first serve.”
Patient parking for the Fentress County RAM clinic will be located at South Fentress Elementary School.
RAM provides various medical services free of charge, including dental exams, eye exams, on-site prescription glasses, women’s health exams, and general medical exams. RAM does not require an ID in order to receive exams.
Remote Area Medical Clinic will visit Fentress County on Saturday and Sunday, September 8 and 9.
