A volunteer work day to clear storm debris from Cane Creek Park’s mountain bike trail will take place Saturday.
The city closed the 2.5 mile trail after a July 20th storm brought down trees and several limbs across the pathways.
“Anyone willing to assist is welcome to meet at the mountain bike trail entrance,” Cookeville Leisure Services Director Rick Woods said.
The trail is expected to reopen immediately following the cleanup, which will take place from 7-10 a.m. Volunteers are asked to bring hand tools, such as rakes and shovels.
The mountain bike trail opened in 2016 and winds through a wooded area North of Cane Creek Park.
