A Tuesday morning crash claimed the life of a Sparta man.
The crash happened at 5:15 a.m. on Sparta Highway in Cumberland County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the deceased as David Joseph Palmer.
According to the THP crash report, Palmer was driving a 2009 Volkswagen when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head on with a 2018 tractor trailer.
Palmer was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical services.
The report stated that Palmer was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The driver of the tractor trailer did not suffer any injuries.
