Upperman High School expects a big crowd for Friday night’s opening football game against Cookeville.
Athletic Director Greg Wilson said the school has spent the past few weeks conducting safety meetings with city and emergency officials.
“We’ve got everything planned out and mapped out,” Wilson said. “We know we will draw a lot of people with it being here locally. We’ve put a lot of planning into it and we look forward to welcoming everybody to the Upperman campus.
Wilson said the school will be bringing in more seating to accommodate the Cookeville fans.
“We are moving in some more bleachers, which will be on the South side of the stadium on the visitors side,” Wilson said. “We are working with the county and school board to be able to add some seating and try to alleviate the standing room only.”
Kickoff for Friday night’s game is set for 7:00.
