Additional Flood Damage Delays Library Restoration Efforts

The Charles Ralph Holland Memorial Library will remain closed after sustaining additional flood damage.

The library closed June 28th after storms caused flooding to damage the flooring.

Jackson County officials had originally hoped to reopen the building by August 1st, but additional flooding on July 20th caused even more damage to the building.

“Thankfully, new flooring had not yet been installed although some minor damages did occur,” Library Director Kate Chalman said. “Please be patient as county government and library staff continue to work diligently to reopen the library as soon as possible.”

Chalman said Innovative Restorations performed all cleanup operations and HomeCORR out of Cookeville is currently laying new floors.
