A woman faces several charges after nearly striking a White County deputy with a vehicle Sunday night.
A judge has set a $25,000 bond for 43-year-old Sandra M. Bivens, who is charged with felony evading arrest, DUI, two counts of aggravated assault, and child abuse and neglect.
According to a press release from the White County Sheriff’s Office, Bivens nearly struck a deputy with her vehicle when she accelerated and fled a traffic stop. She was later located and arrested on Old Kentucky Road.
The report said officers conducted a traffic stop on Biven’s vehicle after she reportedly left the scene of a domestic incident on Prosperity Drive that turned physical.
The report did not say why Bivens was charged with child abuse and neglect.
