A Crossville man died in a motorcycle accident in Monterey early Sunday morning.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 33-year-old James Gayheart was travelling northbound on Glade Creek Road around 12:30 a.m. Sunday when he attempted to pass another vehicle.
The THP report indicates Gayheart then lost control, went off the left side of the road, and struck a fence in a ditch.
Gayheart was thrown from his motorcycle and back onto the roadway where he was pronounced dead.
The report states Gayheart was wearing a helmet when the accident occurred.
