Improvements to the intersection of Hilham Road and Fisk Road remains on the Tennessee Department of Transportation’s radar.
Putnam County Executive Randy Porter said that project remains in the design stage.
“There looking at putting a turning lane on Hilham Road their at the intersection of Fisk,” Porter said. It’s going to take that v out of the roadway so that it’s an actual intersection. We’ve had a lot of wrecks their, some of them pretty bad over the past few years.”
TDOT is currently working to require some right of way needed in order for the project to take place.
Porter said he hopes more progress is made on the project within the next few months.
“When you think about 95 counties across the state and thousands of projects they have going, we try to be patient, but it’s difficult sometimes,” Porter said.
Earlier this week Porter announced that Hilham Road from Bear Creek Road to the Overton County line will be resurfaced this fall.
