The Highlands Economic Partnership has hired a new director of investor relations.
Cookeville-native Justin Matheney was recently hired by the Highlands to serve as the primary connection between the organization and its investors. Matheney will also assist in bringing new investors to the organization.
“This is an exciting time to enter the Highlands Economic Partnership,” Matheney said in a press release. “I am honored to work with a strong team that is already in place doing great work in economic, workforce and community development for our region.”
George Halford is the Cookeville-Putnam County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO. In the press release, he said he was excited to have Matheney join the Highlands team.
“We are elated to welcome Justin to the Highlands Economic Partnership team,” Halford said. “His entrance comes at a pivotal time in not only our organization, but in our Highlands region overall.”
Matheney is a 2014 graduate of Tennessee Tech University, where he double-majored in Sports Journalism and Public Relations. Prior to joining the Highlands, Matheney served as the strong safeties coach, recruiting coordinator, and camp director for Tennessee Tech Football. Matheney went on to become the program’s director of football operations and cornerbacks coach before joining the Highlands.
