Hormann Group broke ground Friday afternoon on it’s $64 million facility in White County.
“We are most excited to be here in White County today,” Hormann North America President Camron Rudd said. “This is the largest single site investment by Hormann in the United States.”
State Senator Paul Bailey said the project also represents the single largest one-time financial investment of a new manufacturing facility in the history of White County.
The German manufacturer of doors, garages, and door frames announced last summer it would expand its American production to Sparta. At the time, Rudd said Tennessee moved to the forefront of sites early on and White County was the perfect site.
“What was not a challenge was working with the people representing the state of Tennessee, TVA, White County and all of the other partners here in the Upper Cumberland. From the first time we made a visit to this area, to our arrival this morning, we have been welcomed and they’ve wanted this project from day 1,” Rudd said.
Rudd said the company is about 15 months away from being operational. Hormann plans to create approximately 200 jobs. The facility will be 312,000 square feet.
