Monterey In Need Of Credit Card For New Website

Monterey’s effort to get a new town website has hit a slight delay.

Aldermen Nathan Walker said Monday the town needs a credit card in order to purchase the domain.

“The city of Monterey does not have a credit card, they aren’t able to purchase things online,” Walker said. “In order to secure these domain names, we would have to purchase by credit card through a domain provider.”

Monterey will soon begin discussion on getting a procurement card in order to make the purchase. The city voted Monday night to begin that process in the near future.

The town’s technology committee has approved a $2,300 contract for a company to design the website.
