A 21-year-old woman and a 9-year-old girl had to be airlifted to Vanderbilt Medical Center following a Saturday afternoon crash in DeKalb County.
The crash happened on Elvis Mill Road.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, 20-year-old Alex Chase Upchurch of Smithville was traveling North in a 1995 Mercury Grand Marquis when he failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway, and struck a tree.
Officials said two other children inside the vehicle received medical treatment at Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital. Upchurch was not injured in the crash.
The conditions of the injured not known at this time.
