CPD on the Lookout for Runaway Juvenile Suspect

Cookeville Police are looking for a juvenile suspect following an early-morning pursuit and attempted theft Monday.

CPD officers apprehended two juveniles around 1:25 a.m. following a short vehicle pursuit. A third suspect was able to evade police at the time of the incident.

The department said an attempted vehicle theft occurred about two hours following the initial incident. The theft occurred at 12th Street and North Willow Avenue near T-Mart before the vehicle was crashed and the suspect fled on foot.

According to CPD, the suspect in the attempted theft is likely the runaway juvenile from the vehicle pursuit.

Police say the juvenile is a 5-foot-10-inch, 175-pound black male, and was last seen wearing a white shirt and blue shorts. CPD said the suspect may be armed with a handgun.

CPD said anyone who sees the suspect should not approach him and should call the department at (931) 526-2125.
